AMI POLICY:
Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) days are days in which students virtually attend school because conditions exist that make it impossible to attend school in person. We believe that students learn best when they are at school. We have designed our yearly calendar to accommodate school cancellations. However, if circumstances exist that would require closing school for several days in a row or if we exceed our built in days, AMI day(s) will be used. The purpose of an AMI day will be to ensure that students continue to learn from home when they cannot be in the school building.
Students are expected to participate in school during an AMI day by completing and returning all assignments no later than the day school resumes. Completion of these assignments will be used to determine student attendance for AMI days. In addition, teachers may schedule one or more virtual meetings via Zoom or Google Classroom and teachers will be available by email.
If we anticipate calling an AMI day, instructional materials and student devices will be sent home with students beforehand. In addition, if your child needs internet access, you can contact techsupport@premiercharterschool.org to arrange for a portable hotspot to be sent home.
